As I revise plans for Malachi's studies before he graduates in 18 months months, I 'touch base' with our vision and focus for him: what virtues, skills and knowledge do we want him to graduate with?

Malachi is an intelligent young man with an incredible retentive memory. Applying himself to his studies will be the major focus.

Narration
Weekly narrations on each of Malachi's Readings of 'Inspirational' subjects. These are: Faith, science, history, geography, economics and civics.

Studied Dictation
Spelling Wisdom
to use All About Spelling when needed to understand spelling rules.

Copywork
Daily work on penmanship

English for Australian Schools - Ronald Ridout
*Daily grammar and composition session with Mum, will also cover essay writing using selections from our home library.

One major essay to be assigned on each of the following per term: Faith, literature, history and science. Futher composition will be required for OYAN

Creative Writing
One Year Adventure Novel
Spent at least one session per week on OYAN

5 novels/term and book of short stories, some suggestion below, further list coming
Write 1 paper on novel of choice, see Composition.

To discuss one of Malachi's novels per week using Adam Andrews' questions
